Reducing our impact

We’re hot on making sure we’re keeping our environment free from harm. So last year we focused heavily on reducing our carbon footprint. 100% of all electricity used at offices was zero carbon and we achieved a 2.3% reduction in carbon emissions from our operational vehicle fleet.

We also planted 7,500 trees across 18 community sites in Bradford, Leeds and Wakefield, and heated 670 homes near Gateshead with a blend of 20% hydrogen.

Green energy for a clean future

With the UK tasked with reaching a net-zero carbon emissions target by 2050, there’s an urgent need to develop affordable, low carbon energy solutions for customers.

From exploring alternative forms of gas such as hydrogen, to breaking down barriers between different energy systems, we’re working with a wide range of partners to help deliver a sustainable energy future.  Take a look to see what we’re getting up to in Redcar here.
